About Us

From a Chance Meeting to a Shared Dream

It started in 2018 at a national billiards championship in the Netherlands. Date van Leeuwen travelled to China for the world tournament, where he saw first-hand the gap between what professional players take for granted and what's available in countries where access to quality equipment is limited.

On the bus to the venue, Date met Peter Kenyua from Kenya. Their conversation sparked an idea: start collecting quality tables, cues, and accessories — and get them to the players who need them most. That idea grew into Cue for Life.

Our Mission

Build the first dedicated multi-discipline cue sports centre in Africa — five disciplines under one roof, with training, competition, and community at its heart.

Five Disciplines Under One Roof.

The first venue in Africa — possibly the world — to house all five major cue sports disciplines in a single location.

English Pool

The classic blackball game — fast, tactical, and hugely popular across Africa and Europe.

American Pool

9-ball, 10-ball, 8-ball — the disciplines that dominate the world stage and professional tours.

Heyball

Chinese 8-ball — the fastest-growing cue sport in the world, with massive tournaments and prize pools.

Snooker

The gentleman's game — precision, strategy, and the ultimate test of cue ball control on a 12-foot table.

Russian Pyramid

Played on a snooker-sized table with near-pocket-sized balls — a true test of precision and power.

The Full Venue

More than tables — the centre includes training programmes, a hotel, restaurant, bar, and cue shop.

The Build

We're Close — Help Us Get There

22 tables are already in-country, valued at over $53,000. More than $31,000 has been spent on the venue fit-out at Kunste Hotel, Nakuru. The original financier, Fred, passed away suddenly in October 2025 — but Date and Peter are carrying the project forward.
